| Happy Spring Break to all who get this fantastic week off from work! For all my 'teacher buddies' I think I say that Spring Break couldn't come any sooner every year. This is the joy of Spring Break.
This is the first SB in a while but I have the calming sense of accomplishment by staying and working in my house. I can't say that I don't miss the beaches of South Padre or shopping in Mexico for knock off Louis Vuitton purses...but c'est la vie to quote a dear friend.
I have come to the realization that I am quite the skilled person around the house. I have not had the need to use these skills having been a renter and college student for so long. I have cleaned out my backyard, put new locks on the fence (power drills should not be used by people who are "learning" a skill...they can be just a trifle dangerous), installed a new kitchen faucet (with a "little" help), rewired a lamp, rewired a telephone outlet, and painted an entire room. It has been great fun let me tell you. :)

| I'm back! :) Believe it or not Xanga world. I have returned. Just thought I'd let you know! :) | | |
| Cardinals won!! :) It's a true fan to still be rooting for them after they were swept in the Wolrd Series right? Sheesh... Now my weekend would be complete and wonderful if the Sooners could pull through today. Quick update on me: I am moving out of my apartment next weekend on very short notice. My apartment is infested with mice and my landlady has done nothing so I am GONE. But alas, there is a good and a bad to every situation. Good is that I get to find my own place (possibly BUYING a house!), bad is that I could be living with my parents. Don't get me wrong...I love my parents more than anything, but once you've lived on your own for a while, you just can't live with parents indefinitely. I must admit that I will enjoy living rent and bill free for at least a month though. And it couldn't have come at a better time. I am going to Nashville in three weeks for a middle school conference with some other teachers. The last time I was there, it was driving through when I was 8 or 9 years old on our way to see family in New York. I am very excited about that weekend and 3 days off from work. Whoo hoo!! If any of you have been, let me know what needs to be "seen." Brinkley (the puppy) is fantastic. He hasn't helped much with the mice problem, other than hearing them and running under the bed. I really needed Gus back for that. My mat maids are wonderful. I think they are finally starting to understand what it means to work together for the "common good." I have a much more diverse group this year but it's a good thing. They are all sweet and are headed for terrific futures. Teaching is still awesome. The kids this year work harder than the kids last year but the kids last year "got Math" a little better. I can't decide which is better honestly. That's all for now. I'm off to pack up my apartment. I have been "blessed" with way too much stuff. If I had a garage, I'd have a garage sale. If anyone out there needs a kitchen table with six matching chairs I'll give you a great deal on them. They need some "love" but it's just too big for me. Have a great weekend!! | | |

| How many of us learned this song in VBS when we were 3? It seems like this song has gotten lost in the "powerful and awe inspiring" contemporary worship songs of the day. I am not diminishing the value of the new worship songs...don't take that the wrong way at all. I love the time for singing and praising whether it be at church or in my car. The David Crowder Band, Casting Crowns, and Starfield are three of my favorite artists right now! But...where did we lose the simplicity of how good our God is?
Where did this tangent come from? Today as I was making yet another run home to let Brinkley out for his afternoon "potty break," I noticed how beautiful it was outside...compared to the triple degree heat Oklahoma has given us this summer. And I realized...God is so good in all things. I am going to do my best to remember that this week and I hope that this is an encouragement to you as well! Have a blessed week!
God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me. | | |
